After much consideration and discussion by our gardening team, this year's Peony Festival has been modified from his traditional format. We waited as long as we could to see if there would be improvement, but last winter's unusually cold temperatures severely damaged our peony crop planted for this year's sale. It is important to use that we continue to offer you the highest quality and quantity of plants that you've come to expect from our event.
The few viable plants that survived the winter will be available on a first-come first-serve basis from 12 p.m. - 3 p.m. on the day of the Festival. And in spite of these changes to the sale format, the public is still welcome to tour and enjoy our gardens that day in the spirit of the Peony Festival.
We're sorry to share this disappointing news as it's one of our favorite events of the year. Let's all hope for a much more temperate winter. It's our plan to be back in full-force in 2015!
